Richard Alberta

Pastor Alberta was born and raised in New Jersey, where he received his undergraduate degree in pre-law from Rutgers-The State University. Married in 1969 to his high school and college sweetheart, Donna, he began a career in banking and finance.

A former atheist with an unsatisfied yearning for purpose and meaning in life, his soul-search for peace and significance brought him face to face with Jesus Christ and the claims of Christianity. He received Jesus as Savior and Lord of his life in 1977.

While considering law school, Richard's heart and mind were re-directed by God's Holy Spirit to the Gospel ministry. He eagerly responded by entering Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1982. He later completed his Doctor of Ministry degree in marriage and family counseling in 1989 at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

"I have been married to my husband, Roger, since 1981. We have three daughters, live in St. Johns, and are active members of First Baptist Church. I graduated from MSU with a degree in Political Philosophy and from Indiana University School of Law. After passing the Michigan bar exam and working for several years at a Lansing law firm, it became clear that God had a different plan for me. He used the gift of our daughters to “give me an undivided heart and put a new spirit in me” (Ezekiel 11:19-20), and Jesus and my family have been the center of my life for over 20 years. Roger and I began teaching our girls at home in 1997, and they have all enjoyed attending classes at Teenworks. When my older two daughters headed to college, God opened the door for me to teach Journalism. I believe home schooled students are perhaps the best hope for America, and I consider it a privilege to work with Teenworks students and families."

Chuck Bultman
Founder, Creation First! - Instructor

Chuck attended Christian schools all the way through high school and came out believing the Bible was completely correct. Then at a Christian college he accepted the belief that God had used evolution to get everything we see. After graduating from Stanford University with a teaching degree, creation remained an issue for his science-friendly mind and he kept trying to reconcile evolution andthe Bible. After attending summer school at U of Colorado, U of Washington, U of Wisconsin, Michigan Tech, and Grand Valley State U, (all of which assumed evolution in their teaching,) he heard a presentation by ICR’s John Morris and AIG's Ken Ham which brought his theistic evolution to extinction. When they pointed out the implications of “no death before Adam” and a truly globe covering flood, there was no room left for his theistic evolution compromise.

His next journey then became how to explain all of the geology and biology that he had been taught- but now within a creation model. Many great family trips out west and to museums have resulted from this on-going quest. Now, after 40 years, he has retired from teaching in the public high school and looks forward to helping others resist the claims of evolutionary science, by demonstrating that these claims are scientifically answerable from a biblical world view.
