Biblical Report on "Homosexuality"
Homosexuality, by definition, is - Of, relating to, or sharing sexual desire toward another of the same sex as one's self. The words Gay and Homophile are also defined in the same way.
According to the Bible, homosexuality is a sin. According to the world, it's strange but acceptable. Personally I agree with God and the Bible. Let's take a look at both views.
The Bible only states the word "homosexuality" once, then it refers to it and adultery and other sorts of sexual sins as sexual immorality. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin, Galations 5:19- "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious, sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery." Leviticus 18:2- " Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestible." God says that sex should only be for those who are married, Hebrews 13:4- " Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral." Not only does God call it a sin, but He also tells us that it is bad for our bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:13, 18- " .The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. Flee from sexual immorality all other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his body."
God also prohibits Christians from engaging in homosexuality. Ephesians 5:3 - "But among you there must not even be a hint of sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's people. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 - "It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality."
God speaks of the consequences of being homosexual in 1 Corinthians 6:9- "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral the idolators and the adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders." Most of us know the story of Sodom and Gommorrah, two extremely sinful cities in the Old Testament, full of prostitution, homosexuality, and many other sinful practices. God sent two angels to see if there were any righteous men, for He planned to destroy those cities. They found one, a man by the name of Lot who took the angels into his house and protected them, Genesis 19:3-6 - "But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom - both young and old - surrounded the house. They called to Lot 'Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out so that we can have sex with them.' Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him and said 'No my friends, don't do this wicked thing'." In the end, the angels saved Lot and his family from the destruction. This story can be found in Genesis 19.
In the modern view, homosexuality is accepted. Some people may not like it or may think it is weird, but it is still accepted. In some states, homosexuals are being allowed to legally marry. Celebrities who are becoming or are homosexual are very open about it.
In 2 Corinthians 12:21 (Paul says) - "I am afraid when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual sin, and debauchery in which they have indulged."
This is the world we now live in.
