Biblical Research on "Homosexuality"

To love is to obey. If you love God with all your heart, you will obey Him and follow His example. There are many warnings against homosexuality in the Bible. We also know, from the Bible that if you don't obey God, you will not enter into Heaven.

Matthew 7:21 - "Not everyone who calls out to me, 'Lord! Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter."

This verse clearly tells us that if we want to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior, we must do the will of the Father. There is no way around this. To live with God, we must obey Him. Homosexuality is a sin. God warns us about this a number of times in both the Old and New Testaments.

Leviticus 18:22 - "'You must not have sexual relations with a man as you would a woman. That is a hateful sin."

Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man has sexual relations with another man as a man does with a woman, these two men have done a hateful sin. They must be put to death. They have brought it on themselves."

Romans 1:26-27 - "Because people did those things, God left them and let them do the shameful things they wanted to do. Women stopped having natural sex and started having sex with other women. In the same way, men stopped having natural sex and began wanting each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and in their bodies they received the punishment for those wrongs."

If you look in the Romans passage, it said that when the people did those wrong things, God left them. It is as simple as this: if you want God to be with you, to bless you and your family, you must obey Him. This is an example of when people sinned against Him and He left them.

There are two main reasons why we should stay away from homosexuality. First, because if we really love God with all of our hearts, we will obey Him. And second, homosexuality is a sin, and we cannot be with God if we sin.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - "Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
