Promoting SSI
To promote SSI, I distributed flyers at Delta Rocks Family Festival. It is a festival that Delta Township has every summer to promote family activities in the area. They have many things at this event, including a ton of things for kids to do as well as some activities for adults. All day, families come and go while visiting the petting zoo area, playing on inflatables, doing crafts, playing games among many other things. They also have what they call the "business expo" tent. In this tent are lots of booths from local businesses and schools.
Since I am on the Delta Township Government Youth Council, I had to work for a few hours at the Township's booth. While I did that, I handed out flyers for SSI's summer program and told people about it. That day, I got to talk with many different people who had never heard of SSI, and didn't know anything about it. It was a great experience to share with other people something that has touched my life, and hopefully they will attend, and have just as great of an experience as I had.
