Take Action Mission: 10 hours of community Service

My community service project was most probably my favorite project for Ambassador League. I volunteered at Youth Haven Ranch, which is a ranch for underprivileged children. Youth Haven has a carnival each year and I was invited to help manage the some of the games. My primary purpose that day was to help children play horseshoes, but by the end of the day I had learned many lessons that far surpassedcarnival game management.

While helping out I realized that all children have a desperate need to be loved. People will argue that this longing to be loved can be filled by any ordinary person, but I believe that it takes a certain person to fill that need. Thankfully, Youth Haven's purpose was to show the children attending that God loved them with an everlasting love. I was thrilled to help was partly because I love children, but mostly because I realized that the carnival's purpose was to show children the love of Christ. I was exhilarated to be a part of the group of helpers - all striving for that one goal.

I am very grateful to Ambassador League for giving me this fantastic opportunity and for helping my relationship with Christ to grow because of this experience. My service time that day led me to apply as a counselor at Youth haven's summer camp. I am greatly looking forward to that week and anxiously waiting to see God's perfect plan unfold as He uses me for His purpose.
