The following student report was submitted by Ambassador League Agent Erin M. during the 2007-2008 League.

Dear Editor, There currently is a bill that is being debated on many house floors. It is the "Non-discrimination act. House Minority Whip Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., joined Perkins on his Sept. 8 radio broadcast. "It's a terrible policy. We've worked hard over the years to continue to strengthen rather than weaken the ability of faith-based organizations to truly be faith-based in their hiring. And I think that's important, and it's a big part of the debate we need to have on this bill." This bill affects every business and simply gives the government MORE power. We as Americans should be fighting to protect our rights as small business owners, and any business owner to be able to reserve the right to hire any person you want regardless of age, race, sex, or sexual orientation. This bill actually encourages discrimination, because it gives a minority the right to claim discrimination falsely. This bill says that it is prohibiting discrimination. That is the exact opposite of what this bill actually does. This bill says, "HEY HEY! Look at me! I'm ______ so now you have to hire me! It encourages discrimination against the majority of the population of America! It seems to me like the politicians who wrote and support this bill, are more concerned about getting the votes of the minority than trying to work together to actually solve the problem.
