The following student report was submitted by Ambassador League Agent Erin M. during the 2007-2008 League.

Dear Editor, My government teacher brought up a good point in class on Tuesday and I wanted to share it with you. He asked us how many of us have heard our families complain about the government at home. We all raised our hands of course. Then he asked us this, "What are you willing to put forth, to sacrifice, to do without to make our government better? Because if you're going to spend all that time complaining, you have contributed to the problem by doing nothing." When it snows, usually people complain about how hard it's going to be to get out the driveway etc. However if they would just go shovel and stop wasting my time complaining their main problem would be solved. My teacher's main point was we should not be complaining about anything if we aren't willing to contribute to the solution. We, as American's spend the majority of our time complaining about something. Sure we are busy people, but what are we busy doing? We need to work at being better citizens and contributing to a solution, not becoming more of a problem. Thank you.
