Sanctity of Life
A baby is born each day; a mother and a father have the opportunity to witness the gift of life. Some live life to the fullest and thank God for life each day. Some people take life for granted and do physical damage to their bodies or they end their lives earlier by committing suicide. Life is only a one time gift from God, people should cherish it and never give it away unless the Lord calls for it.
Job-Chapters 7:15-17
15 "So that I prefer strangling and death, rather than this body of mine. 16 I despise my life; I would never live forever. Let me alone; my days have no meaning. 17 "What is man that you make so much of him, that you give him so much attention".
Like Job who was burdened by the time, many people allow the lost of loved ones or materialistic items to become the judge on rather they deserve to continue living or not. Even though Job was burdened he still didn't let his faith in God perish. God uses Job as an example to say that people need to understand the sanctity of life, and keep their faith in God. Sometimes bad things have to happen in order to bring people closer to God; not to distance people from God and encourage them to take their lives.
Ecclesiastes-Chapters 6:11-12
11 "The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone? 12 For who knows what is good for a man in life, during the few and meaningless days he passes through like a shadow? Who can tell him what will happen under the sun after he is gone"?
One shouldn't need words to describe the sanctity of life. An individual who values life from God should know that their days lived here on earth are precious and not meaningless. If a person decides that their life shouldn't be valued and ends then they also should know that they should cease to have a relationship with God. If every one decides to commit the sin of suicide then how will a mother and a father ever be able to enjoy the new life of a baby?
