Mission: Take Action - Letter to the Editor #2

Dear Editor,

I wholeheartedly agree with Julie Mack’s article, "Community college is a great option, academically and financially." In times of economic uncertainty and increased college tuition, community colleges can help students save money and adjust to the demands of a full-time college schedule.

As a fourth-semester student at KVCC, I have only good things to say about my experiences. I have even formed friendships with many of my professors, one of the greatest benefits of KVCC’s small classrooms and close-knit environment. Also, I am impressed with the ease of my transition to WMU in the fall: all of my credits seamlessly transferred, and I received a scholarship.

Community college is not for "dumb kids" - for me, it was a way to save money and enjoy the individualized attention offered at a small school. Thanks to KVCC for offering a great education and helping me reach my goals!
