Proposal 1 is not worth the risk!
I'm a senior in high school and I'm opposed to Proposal 1. Although legalizing marijuana use for medical purposes may seem harmless, the risk is far too great. In today's culture, the temptation to do drugs is very great. This proposal would actually make it easier for children and teens to get their hands on this drug. Many people are not aware that this proposal would allow certain people to grow their own marijuana plants at home. Who is to say that the products of this plant won't fall into the wrong hands, either by design or by accident? This proposal just makes it easier for our youth to be sucked into addictions to drugs. It's not worth the risk. I understand that those with serious illnesses need medication but I'm confident in our ability to produce alternative medication without legalizing medical marijuana. Vote NO on Proposal 1!
