Mission: Tactics - SSI Promotion

My church has a large youth group, so I asked my youth pastor if we could promote SSI there. We set the date for a Sunday morning during Sunday school, ordered the dvd and brochures from headquarters, and were good to go!

We began with a short introduction of the promotional dvd. It was very interesting and quickly got our youth group’s attention, because it started right out with someone from our church who everyone knew! The dvd showed us what SSI is, how it works, and what one does while there. It was great seeing kids my own age, and what they did during their week at SSI!

After the dvd, Jack H., who attended SSI last summer, gave a report of his experience there. He said that even though SSI sounds difficult, it’s really not very hard at all, and is actually a ton of fun! Knowing people on the dvd, as well as hearing Jack’s first hand testimony, made it really hit home to everyone that "WOW, perhaps I should do this!."

After Jack was finished, 2 other girls and I handed out brochures which explain the purpose of SSI, as well as the details such as dates and cost.

Although I was a little apprehensive, promoting SSI was a good experience for me. I learned more about it myself, and am looking forward to going this summer!
