Mission: Research - Nature of Man
Man became basically evil when sin entered the world. Sin entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Because of the fall, man can no longer be good. We have a sin nature. Because of Christ's righteousness we can master sin but it goes against our flesh to do it. God gave us desires and eyes and a mouth to do good works for Him, but when we are tempted we want to use them for the wrong things. We let ourselves go after evil desires our eyes turn lustful and our tongue starts to boast in the thing we have accomplished.
God is not the one who tempts us with sin; it is our own flesh, but He provides all of us a way out from doing the wrong thing. We just have to choose to fight the temptation. Satan is called the great deceiver in the bible and he is constantly looking for someone to devour - someone to trick with his lying tongue and cunning words.
The only solution to our sin nature is through the Holy Spirit. And the only way to have the Holy Spirit is to accept Christ to be the Lord and Savior of your life. Without the Spirit our society will continue in it's downfall. We have a very influential media who try to twist and cover up the truth. We are a spoiled nation, who is trying to get rid of God by banning praying in school, not allowing bibles in school, trying to get rid of the Ten Commandments in court houses, and the list goes on.
Man's heart is desperately wicked and beyond cure. God who is perfect sees the corruptness of our hearts and the evil of our minds but he is still willing to forgive. The imperfect world however, is quick to judge people by their outward appearance and do not so easily forgive.
Because of our sin and disobedience we deserve to be separated from Christ and eternal condemnation. But God who is patient and not willing to let any die offers His grace and eternal life to all that ask.
