“I want to be an aide-de-camp [Summer Program Assistant] because coming as a student was the best experience of my teenage years -- I came away with a reason to live -- and I want to be a part of that experience for someone else. For several years before my first week (2008), I'd been very, not depressed, but very lost. I didn't know why I was alive, or if it was worth staying. That all changed during the week of SSI, as I learned and really believed for the first time that God does truly care about me individually, and He has a plan for my life -- even when I can't see what it is. I want to be a part of giving that hope to someone else who may be where I was. It's about touching lives.”

Our four students who were there this summer shared their experiences with the student body the first day of school. "Awesome" is the only word that I can think of that even comes close to describing their experiences. Thank you for investing in their lives.

I am looking forward to next year. It was a very valuable experience. I was baffled at how awesome the week was!

What you are doing for our Michigan citizens and young adults is a ministry of deep importance and long term results. Keep it up!!! I am honored to help.

Took down my calendar and put it in the trash. When I looked through it there were only four different events/dates writen down. June 26th - July 1st: SSI, July 2 - August 12th: Trip to Czech Repub., September 16th - 18th: Mt. Pleasent Civil War Muster and November 5th: The Sesquicentennial Ball. The four most important events of my year. Four things that I wouldn't trade.
