Onsite Program
The Onsite Program was developed to provide a two-day compact version of the dynamic SSI summer experience to schools,
home school groups and youth groups throughout Michigan and beyond.
Onsite programs have been successfully conducted in Adrian, Battle Creek, Brighton, Flint, Lansing, Jackson, Grand Rapids, Harbor Springs, Kalamazoo, Novi, Saginaw, Southfield and Traverse City.
Since a limited number of students are able to take advantage of the summer camp each year, SSI Onsite Programs are being conducted around the state with great success.
"I continue to be amazed at the enthusiasm that develops in young people through SSI," exclaims James Muffett, founder of
the Student Statesmanship Institute. "Most of these students have never participated in debate, nor have they done much
public speaking, so the mock legislature portion of the program is often very intimidating. But it is an incredible
experience to see them rise to the occasion when we convene the House of Representatives after just two short days."
Former State Representative Harold Voorhees says that the quality of debate among the students rivals the real thing!
The Onsite Program features dynamic classroom sessions with speaker James Muffett and offers the students the opportunity to experience the committee process and the mock legislature. Volunteering on committees are community leaders such as mayors, state representatives, judges, city council members, etc. "In my travels, I have not encountered another program like SSI. God has truly given us a unique opportunity to inspire a new generation of young leaders," says Muffett.
If your Christian school, home school group or youth group is interested in this dynamic program, please contact SSI at 517-321-6233 or email us.
