OnSite Report

Traverse City Christian School Onsite Report, September 11-13, at East Bay Calvary Church

We are excited to report that we completed another successful On-Site Program up north! This was our fifth event with Traverse City Christian School, and this year we were blessed to be joined by Cadillac Heritage Christian Academy as well as a number of home schooled students. A big thank you is in order for Tony Weber from Traverse City Christian and Bill Goodwill from Cadillac Heritage. It was a joy to work with others who share our passion for training the next generation! Also, we were thrilled that State Senator Michelle McManus helped underwrite the program and that East Bay Calvary Church provided their excellent facilities for our use.

Here are some student comments:

"I am glad SSI is here for everyone to come to."

"I think SSI is definitely a good experience. It stretched me in a lot of ways. It is also about having a good time, it isn't only about government."

"The caucus meetings were very interesting. I liked interacting with the other students. I learned a lot about the legislative process. I really didn't care before this."

"I think SSI is an extremely valuable and practical learning experience for our young people." - Bill Goodwill, Administrator at Cadillac Heritage Christian School

"We have hosted SSI at Traverse City Christian five times, and I am increasingly impressed by the quality of the program and the impact on the students. I look forward to hosting SSI again. In the meantime, I will be encouraging my students to go to Lansing this summer for the summer program." - Anthony Weber, Traverse City Christian School
