OnSite Report
Midland Area, October 31-November 1, 2007
Our first-ever Onsite in Midland was a rousing success and we made the headlines on the front page of the
Midland Daily News!
We were excited to have nearly 60 students participate from Midland Christian School, Calvary Baptist Academy and Christian Home Educators
of Midland. It was wonderful to see the collaboration between the school administrators, teachers and parents. Once again we were blessed
with a stellar line-up of volunteers who helped with logistics, prepared and served food, and assisted with every aspect of the program.
Our group of VIP's who helped with the Committee Hearings included State Representatives John Moolenar and Bill Caul, former legislators
Joel Gougeon and Jim McNutt, and Midland County Commissioners Jim Stamas and Otis Wilson.
We must give special thanks to Eric VanderHoof and Gary Lyvere from Midland Christian, Dan Forbes from Calvary Baptist and Sarah Hickman
from Christian Home Educators of Midland. In an email following the event, MCS Administrator Eric VanderHoof wrote:
"Thanks for coming and I trust you had a safe trip home. The conference accomplished what I hoped as teachers and students realized what can be achieved when the bar is raised. The program has already received great accolades from teachers, parents, and students."
