Teenworks, February 1-2, 2008
Our
third Onsite of the year featured 54 students for our second collaboration with Teenworks Tutoring
Service in Grand Ledge. We were thrilled to have State Representatives Brian Calley and Rick Jones join us for the Committee Hearings
along with three SSI alumni who served as lobbyists for the "younger" kids. This is something that is happening more and more around the
state and I am thrilled to know that former students have enough respect and passion for the program that they want to continue their
involvement. Also, the local Fox Television affiliate covered the event on their nightly news program, but I am unable to post it here
since we have not yet obtained a copy of the video. We are grateful to Kathy Annis and the Teenworks staff for hosting a wonderful event.
