Traverse City Christian School, November 10-12, 2008

TCCS sponsored one of the very first SSI Onsite Pilot Programs in 2000. Since then, due to the success of the program, we’ve been invited back every two years. It is an honor to work with the school’s government teacher, Anthony Weber, and local volunteer Kirsten Saldanha, as we challenge the students to be leaders and responsible Christian citizens in their generation.

Once again, East Bay Calvary Church provided a wonderful venue for the teaching and breakout sessions. Over 60 high school students from Traverse City Christian School and area homeschoolers participated. The VIP volunteers for the Committee Meetings included Wayne Schmidt, the newly elected State Representative from Traverse City, along with Bob Mannes, the President of Core Energy and Carol Tondreau, the local Director of Right to Life. As always, the adults who role-play with the students really add an aura of authenticity to the whole process. SSI simply would not be nearly as effective without their participation. Special thanks also to The Travelodge Hotel in Traverse City for donating the accommodations.
