Space is limited, particularly for advanced tracks, and historically we fill up quickly, so we recommend you register early!

Eligibility

Students entering their first year of high school through those entering their first year of college are accepted to the program. However, we will accept alumni up to age 19 as long as they are eligible to participate in the advanced Business, Judiciary or Media track.

First-year* students will be members of the House of Representatives in the Mock Legislature Track, unless they have fully participated in and On-Site program. In this case, they may participate as Senators.

Second-year* students will be Senators in the Mock Legislature Track, UNLESS they are entering their Junior or Senior year in high school. In that case, they are eligible and may participate in the Business, Trial or Media tracks if space allows when the registration is received at SSI.

Third-year, fourth-year, & fifth-year* students have the option of participating in any track, although the Media, Business and Trial Tracks are expected to fill quickly, as a limited number of spaces is available in each track.

*Note: First-year students are those attending SSI's Summer Program for the first time. Second-year students are attending the Summer Program for the second time, and so on. It has nothing to do with what high school year you're entering. For additional explanation see the eligibility page.

Financial Considerations

Early-Registration Discount: To qualify for the $319 early registration tuition, all fees must be paid in full by March 31.

Group Discount: Tuition is only $309 each when registering with a group of 10 or more, and all registrations and full payment is received by SSI no later than April 30. After this date, group tuition is only $329. To qualify for a group discount, every participant must fill out his/her own registration form, and all forms must be submitted together by one contact person. All groups must be pre-established and are subject to SSI’s prior approval. Register early, and save up to $30 each!

Financial Aid: Financial Aid may be available for those in serious need. Send the registration form, a financial aid application & a minimum $50 deposit.

NOTE: Please send as much of your tuition as possible when registering. A $50 minimum deposit is required to reserve a space. All balances must be paid in full two weeks before the week attending. Thank you.

General Information

Tuition - Your registration fee covers all instructional materials, food & lodging for all five days!

Daily Events - Worship/Bible study; teaching sessions; legislative, trial, business, or media activities; dynamic speakers; entertainment; games & sports. Everything but singing 'Kumbaya' and roasting marshmallows around a campfire!

What to Bring - Bible, pen, note paper, bedding & pillow, towels & toiletries, fan (sorry--no air conditioning in the dorms).

What Not to Bring - Boom boxes, amplified musical instruments, stereo equipment, computer equipment, cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, or anything else your mom or dad wouldn't want you to have. Note: electronic devices will not be allowed in the administration building, where all sessions take place (this includes PDA's, laptops, CD players, cell phones, etc.).

What to Wear - Be sure to pack not only athletic & casual clothes, but also business attire for 3 trips to the Capitol or other venues. Strict, modest dress code in effect. If you would wear it to meet the U.S. President in church on Resurrection Sunday, it should be okay. See the Policies page for full details.
